“Impression, Morisot” at Palazzo Ducale
At the Ducal Palace, until Feb. 23, 2025, comes “Impression, Morisot,” an exhibition dedicated to Berthe Morisot, one of the key figures of French Impressionism.
At last, even in Italy we can better discover this artist whose painting portrayed the everyday life of women and their relationship with nature with a very personal touch. The exhibition brings together a selection of her most representative works, focusing on the themes of femininity and family.

The exhibition “Very Near, Incredibly Far” (in italian “Molto Vicino, Incredibilmente Lontano”) recounts her extraordinary ability to capture the essence of the people she photographed, with special attention to marginal subjects. Among the works on display, you will find the famous shots of Genoese transvestites in the 1960s and reportages made around the world, in a visual journey that shows a complex and authentic humanity.

The Twenty Years of the Galata Maritime Museum
The Galata Maritime Museum is turning 20 and celebrating it with a series of events and temporary installations dedicated to the world of seafaring.
Through January 2025, the museum offers an interactive and immersive experience chronicling the evolution of shipping and maritime trade, themes that are part of the city's DNA. From historical models to digital experiences, this anniversary transforms the Galata into a journey through time and space through the history of the sea.

“Other Transparencies, Other Lands” by Nanni Valentini

Valentini explores sculpture and ceramics in innovative ways, playing with transparencies and matter in a series of works that defy convention. Through Nov. 21, 2024, you can discover this more experimental side of Italian sculpture, in a space that has established itself as one of the main reference points for contemporary art in Genoa.
