Liguria, thanks to its geographic location and mild climate, is particularly conducive to the flowering of many plants, including wisteria, cherry, azalea, and rhododendron. These plants, along with other varieties, create an enchanting landscape that transforms the city into a true open-air garden.

Parchi di Nervi


Nervi Parks are one of the most beautiful and evocative places in Genoa: they are located in the far eastern part of the city, right next to the famous seaside promenade.


This park is best known for its rose garden, which is home to more than 400 different varieties of roses. During its spring blooming, it offers an extraordinary spectacle, with flowers of every color and shade. Not only roses: in fact, it is also possible to admire a wide variety of plants typical of the region and beyond, including lemons, palms, azaleas and rhododendrons.


To reach the Nervi Parks from the Hotel Astoria, simply walk to Brignole station. From here you can take bus No. 15, which stops right at the entrance to the park. Alternatively, you can take the Genoa-Nervi line train and get off at Nervi station, from which you can reach the park in a few minutes on foot.


Villa Pallavicini


Villa Pallavicini is a historic park located in the Pegli neighborhood of Genoa that offers visitors an unforgettable experience among gardens, woods, meadows, and ponds. Among the park's many attractions, the flowering of the camellias represents one of the most striking moments of the year. These plants, with their flowers of extraordinary shapes and colors, offer a unique show in a fairy-tale atmosphere. What's more, the Clelia Durazzo Grimaldi Botanical Garden, home to more than 1,000 species of plants, is also located here.


You can reach Villa Pallavicini from Brignole station, just a short walk from our hotel, and take the train on the Genoa-Pegli line, getting off at Pegli station. From here, the park is only a few minutes' walk away.

Parco di Villa Negrotto Cambiaso


Although not quite in Genoa, Villa Negrotto Cambiaso Park in Arenzano is a wonder to be discovered. Indeed, beautiful gardens, fountains and statues can be admired along the paths. Spring is the perfect time to admire the flowering of the park's plants, including azaleas and rhododendrons in the most varied hues. But not only that, the park is also an oasis of peace for some special animals, such as tortoises and peacocks, who populate its paths and lawns.


We recommend reaching Villa Negrotto Cambiaso Park from Hotel Astoria simply by leaving from Genoa Brignole station and taking the Genoa-Ventimiglia line train, getting off at Arenzano station. From here, the park can be reached on foot in a few minutes.


Giardino di Villa Serra di Comago


Also located just outside Genoa, the Villa Serra di Comago Garden in Sant'Olcese is a unique experience for botany and nature lovers. Plants and flowers of all kinds and colors can be admired here, including azaleas, rhododendrons, peonies and camellias. The garden covers as much as 10 hectares and is enhanced by numerous statues, fountains and water features. Spring is the ideal time to visit the garden, when the plants are in full bloom and provide a breathtaking spectacle.


You can reach Villa Serra di Comago Garden from Brignole station: taking the Genoa-Ventimiglia line train, get off at Sant'Olcese station. From here, the garden can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes. Alternatively, it can be reached in about 30 minutes by car.
